Tengrinews.kz – The press service of the Ministry of Healthcare has explained how Kazakhstanis can now report overpriced medicines.
According to the ministry, the Naqty Onim application has been launched.
“Every citizen can check the maximum price of a medicine and file a complaint about inflated prices,” the Ministry of Healthcare stated.
The ministry reminded that since July 2024, all medicines in Kazakhstan are subject to mandatory labeling.
“This protects patients from counterfeits and ensures full traceability — from the manufacturer to the pharmacy. Thanks to labeling, cases of illegal sales of free medicines have been uncovered. Inspections have begun jointly with the Prosecutor General’s Office. Transparency is already producing results: tax revenues from the pharmaceutical sector have increased by 24 percent,” the ministry said.
It should be noted that at today’s government meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed officials to strengthen control over providing citizens with medicines and “prevent unreasonable price increases.” According to the prime minister, an information system is expected to be launched that will enable continuous monitoring and real-time tracking of medicine availability.
