After the first shooting range, another biathlete from Kazakhstan, Vadim Kurales, was in the lead. After the second shooting, his competitor from China, Cang Gu, briefly pulled ahead, but Kurales regained the lead at the end.

Vladislav Kireyev, who started later than other favorites, was following the top three for most of the distance, but picked up speed at the finish and was able to beat his compatriot by 25 seconds.

As a result, Kazakhstan won gold and silver, and the bronze medal went to the representative of China.

It should be noted that Vadim Kurales' gold was the second for the Kazakhstan team today and the third at the Asian Games. The 2025 Asian Games in Harbin will last until February 14.

Earlier, the Kazakhstan men's freestyle aerials team members Sherzod Khashirbayev and Roman Ivanov won a gold medal in the synchronized jumps discipline.
