Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstani boxer Gulsaya Yerzhan competed in the final of the Asian Boxing Championship in the weight category up to 81 kilograms.

Karine Airapetyan from Ukraine became the Kazakhstani's opponent in the decisive fight. In the first round, the judges gave an unconditional advantage to Yerzhan.

The second and third rounds were again given to the Kazakh. As a result, Gulsaya Yerzhan defeated the Ukrainian with a crushing score of 5:0 and became the Asian champion. This victory brought the national team its fourth gold in the international tournament.

It should be noted that in the semi-finals, Gulsaya Yerzhan won against her opponent from Uzbekistan, boxer Sokhiba Ruzmetova, with two knockdowns.

Only two representatives of the Kazakh team out of 12 remained without medals at the Asian Championship: Alua Balkibekova and Symbat Aliaskar. The Asian Boxing Championship in Chiang Mai (Thailand) will last until December 11. On the last day, nine representatives of the Kazakh team will compete for gold.

Earlier, Kazakhstani boxer Sagyndyk Togambay defeated Madiyar Saydrakhimov from Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals of the ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships.
