Tengrinews.kz - A man who paid for several bouquets of flowers with souvenir banknotes was detained in Karaganda, according to Polisia.kz.
According to the department, employees of the Central Police Department of the city on suspicion of fraud detained a 24-year-old man.
"The offender bought several huge bouquets in one of the flower shops. He paid with souvenir banknotes. The seller discovered that the banknotes were counterfeit when the swindler had already disappeared. The amount of damage was 120 thousand tenge. The suspect confessed. Material evidence was seized," the report says.
The police also established the involvement of the detainee in three more similar crimes.
"All identified cases of fraud have been combined into one case. An investigation is underway. A preventive measure in the form of arrest has been chosen for the swindler," the report says.
