Tengrinews.kz - What products are planned to be made from industrial hemp in Kazakhstan? Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov answered this question.
According to the vice minister, industrial hemp production has not yet started. An investor is currently selecting land, researching technologies, and considering a product line.
“The range of possible products is quite broad — from paper goods to oil. Since we’re talking about technical (industrial) hemp, which contains no narcotic substances, the main product will most likely be high-security paper. This could become a strong export product: paper for identity documents, passports, and various official forms,” Sultanov said at a government briefing.
He added that the investor will focus on market demand, and most of the products are expected to be exported. The hemp will be cultivated in the North Kazakhstan region.
