Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan is set to introduce a new information system for the agricultural sector, citing Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev.
The minister proposed creating a unified digital platform to better manage the country’s agrarian sector by consolidating all data related to livestock and veterinary services.
“To achieve this, we need to build a single information system that ensures comprehensive data tracking, real-time analytics, and faster decision-making — from individual farmers to the relevant ministries. We also recommend placing special emphasis on the implementation of smart farms and expanding automation,” Madiyev said during a government meeting.
The ministry is encouraging the development of technologies such as automated milking systems, feed distribution, climate control, video surveillance, and animal health monitoring sensors.
“All of this data should feed into a centralized digital system, enabling the creation of a digital profile for each herd. This will help farmers respond quickly to risks, boost productivity, and reduce human error,” he noted.
Earlier, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov proposed introducing fines for livestock owners who fail to register their animals.
