Kazakhstan to introduce railway ticket machines in Q3 2011

Kazkahstan plans to launch railway tickets machines in the Q3 2011, Passazhirskie Perevozki LLP informed in a statement. The project to launch sales of railway tickets through a network of ticket machines will be implemented as a public-private partnership. The investor undertakes to create a network of 3 000 ticket machines across the country and duly maintin them afterwards. This network will enable to optimize costs related to ticket sales. Last year Passazhirskie Perevozki LLP voiced their plans to introduce the network of ticket machines to combat middlemen purchasing tickets from ticket offices and selling them at a premium later on, Interfax – Kazakhstan reports.
