Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan and Morocco will establish a mutual visa-free regime, according to a draft government resolution published on the "Open Laws and Regulations" portal.

The agreement on visa exemption was signed between the governments of Kazakhstan and Morocco in September 2024. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is now working on the necessary documentation.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has begun developing a draft government resolution 'On the approval of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of national/ordinary passports,'" the MFA said in a statement.

The decision to introduce a visa-free regime aims to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries and facilitate travel for Kazakh and Moroccan citizens holding valid national ordinary passports, exclusively for tourism purposes.

The agreement specifies that the duration of each stay for Kazakh and Moroccan citizens in the respective countries should not exceed 30 calendar days within a 180-day period from the date of entry. Additionally, passports must be valid for at least three months beyond their expiration date.

It should be noted that a visa will still be required for Kazakh and Moroccan nationals intending to stay longer than the permitted period for business, employment, or study purposes.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan published a joint order, according to which changes were made to the rules for issuing visas and invitations for foreigners, as well as extending and reducing their validity periods.
