Kazakhstan to be buried in snow: 3-day forecast

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for January 17, 18 and 19.

An anticyclone centered over Siberia will keep frosty weather in place in the northern and eastern regions of Kazakhstan.

“In the west and south of the republic, the weather will be shaped by a southern cyclone and its associated frontal systems. These areas will see adverse weather conditions in the form of precipitation (mainly snow), blowing snow, wind strengthening to storm-force levels, and icy conditions,” the forecasters said.

On January 17–18, heavy precipitation is expected in parts of Turkistan, Zhambyl and Almaty regions.

Kazakhstan to be blanketed with snow

At the start of next week, a northwestern cyclone will shift into the northern, northwestern and central regions, bringing snow with blizzards and a gradual increase in temperature.

Fog is expected in some areas across the country.
