Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has climbed in the global happiness ranking published on March 20 in the World Happiness Report.
In the latest edition of the ranking, Kazakhstan secured 43rd place out of 147 countries. Compared to last year, the country jumped six positions from 49th place and outperformed all CIS countries in the "happiness index." Uzbekistan ranked 53rd, Russia 66th, Kyrgyzstan 75th, Moldova 80th, Armenia 79th, Tajikistan 90th, and Azerbaijan 106th.
For the eighth consecutive year, Finland has been named the happiest country in the world.

The United States dropped from 23rd to 24th place, marking its worst performance in the ranking. China ranked 68th, down from 60th in the previous report. Ukraine was placed 111th.
Afghanistan was once again ranked as the world's least happy country, followed by Sierra Leone and Lebanon.
The ranking is published annually in honor of the International Day of Happiness, celebrated on March 20. The World Happiness Report has been released since 2012 and evaluates six key factors to determine happiness levels in different countries: social support, income, health, freedom, generosity, and lack of corruption. These criteria are assessed based on surveys conducted among local populations.
