Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan has produced 1,488,308 passports in 2024, marking a record high in the past 30 years, according to Polisia.kz.
One of the key reasons behind the surge is the halving of passport issuance fees for children.
"The youngest recipient of the turquoise passport of Kazakhstan was just 10 days old, while the oldest was 109 years old. Through the readmission process, police facilitated the return of 70 Kazakh nationals stranded abroad without documents," the Ministry of Internal Affairs stated.
Additionally, in 2024, authorities identified 3,786 employers illegally using foreign labor.
Furthermore, as part of the implementation of the President’s address, residence permits were granted to 41 foreign IT specialists under a simplified procedure.
Previously, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population reported that 1,146,400 ethnic Kazakhs have returned to their historical homeland since Kazakhstan's independence in 1991.
