In the presence of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a memorandum of understanding between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America on cooperation in the field of critical minerals was signed.

The document was signed by Kazakhstan’s Minister of Industry and Construction, Yersaiyn Nagaspaev, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick.

Earlier, during the night of November 6, President Tokayev arrived in Washington on an official visit.

The President’s program began with a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik, and Special Presidential Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.

The participants exchanged views on key aspects of bilateral and regional agendas.

Tokayev met with Rubio in Washington

Tokayev is expected to hold talks with Donald Trump and take part in the “Central Asia – U.S.” C5+1 summit.
