"We attach special significance to your visit. It is further evidence of our mutual readiness to expand comprehensive cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union. We maintain a strong and substantive partnership based on mutual respect and understanding. Our political dialogue is dynamic and developing across many areas of mutual interest. In this regard, I highly value the results of the EU–Kazakhstan Cooperation Council meeting held a few days ago in Brussels," Tokayev stated.

Bilateral trade turnover reached about 50 billion dollars last year, while the total volume of investments since 2005 is nearly 200 billion dollars. Kazakhstan accounts for 80 percent of the EU’s trade with Central Asia.
