Kazakhstan and Morocco signed an agreement on exemption of visa requirements

According to Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, a meeting took place between the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita. The two discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations in political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian areas.

"Following the negotiations, the parties signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of national/ordinary passports," the press release stated.

It is explained that the document aims to facilitate the movement of citizens and nationals of both countries and contributes to the further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to the agreement, citizens of Kazakhstan and Morocco are exempt from visas for entry, exit, transit, and temporary stay. The duration of each stay must not exceed 30 calendar days within a 180-day period from the date of entry. Those intending to stay in the other country for longer than stipulated by the agreement, or for work, study, or business purposes, are required to obtain a visa at the diplomatic missions of the respective country.

"The agreement will come into effect 30 calendar days after the date of receipt of the last written notification through diplomatic channels confirming that both parties have completed the necessary domestic procedures," clarified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
