Tengrinews.kz - The naval exercises of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan "Caspian Breeze - 2025" will be held in Aktau, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
The day before, staff talks with representatives of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry were held in Aktau, the department reported.
"During the talks, the First Deputy - Chief of the General Staff of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan, Captain 1st Rank Kanat Niyazbekov and Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces of Azerbaijan, Captain 1st Rank Teymur Murshudov discussed and agreed on the details of the upcoming exercises. The exercises will be held in the Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea. Upon the arrival of the ships, the exercise plan and details of the episodes on the maps will be clarified," the report says.
During the exercises, the participants plan to deploy ships and perform elements of joint navigation of ships during a sea crossing.
The sailors will work on such issues as "repelling asymmetric threats, providing assistance to aircraft, ships and vessels in distress."
The sailors will also conduct live fire at sea and air targets.
"The exercises will cover a wide range of tasks aimed at increasing the effectiveness of interaction and strengthening relations between the naval forces of our countries," said Chief of the General Staff - First Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Niyazbekov.
The exercises will involve personnel from coastal units and ships (vessels) of the naval base. Two patrol ships, an auxiliary vessel and coastal units will arrive from Azerbaijan.
