Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh tazy, gifted by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to French President Emmanuel Macron, is expecting puppies, citing 24kz.

During a reception for foreign journalists at the Élysée Palace in Paris, held on the eve of the Paris Olympics, Kazakh journalist Aliya Syzdykova inquired about the well-being of Jeanne and Jules, the tazy dogs given to President Macron by Tokayev.

Following the inquiry, the pair of tazy, Jules and Jeanne, were brought out for everyone to see. According to Brigitte Macron, Jeanne, a purebred tazy, is soon to give birth for the first time.

"The dogs were playing nearby, and when the reception guests went out to the courtyard, the dogs were brought in. After my question about their well-being, Brigitte Macron asked to bring the dogs, and they then freely roamed among the guests for the rest of the reception. They are very sociable and affectionate dogs that enjoy being petted. They live permanently at the Élysée Palace. Madame Macron noted that Jeanne and Jules get along well with the first presidential dog, Nemo. She also mentioned that tazy dogs have strong characters," detailed journalist Aliya Syzdykova about the encounter at the Élysée Palace.

In 2023, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gifted the five-month-old tazy puppies to Emmanuel Macron after the French president admired the dogs during a visit to an exhibition in Astana.

In Paris, the puppies were named Jules and Jeanne. It was also reported that the dogs became friends with Nemo, a black Labrador who has been living at the Élysée Palace for several years.

In March this year, Emmanuel Macron's personal photographer posted a picture of the president with the Kazakh national breed dogs on Instagram.
