Tengrinews.kz - The Minister of Science and Higher Education used the example of the fallen empire of the arrested American rapper Sean Combs to illustrate the fragility of the modern world.

“Now there's a new term they coined for the existing world - BANI world. Brittle, anxious, non-linear, and incomprehensible. And when I think about it, this is the essence of entrepreneurship. The essence of being a businessman. Because things are becoming so brittle in the world. Huge corporations crumble in a matter of years and months. On a personal level, individual reputations are shattered in a matter of days. And we're having a big thing happening with Puff Daddy (the early pseudonym of Sean Combs, known as P. Diddy) and staff like that. You had a huge empire built, boom, it shatters. So it's up to you, up to entrepreneurs like yourselves, to make this world more solid. Don't build systems, build platforms. Don't build hierarchies, build networks. Don't build brittle things, build solid things. And solid nowadays means flexible, adaptable," Nurbek said while addressing young people at the opening ceremony of the Enactus World Cup 2024.

Nurbek noted that people are currently living in a world filled with anxiety because they feel that they have no control over anything.

"We've been bombarded by negative news twenty-four hours a day. We worry about things we can't control. We don't relate to, in fact. So it's up to you to make this world safer. A calmer place. Because entrepreneur lives in anxiety and in ambiguity. He's ready to be challenged every time and every day. So it's up to you to calm down the situation," the minister added.

The Enactus World Cup brought together thousands of students from around the world. It aims to promote student entrepreneurship and, according to the ministry, will actively engage youth in socio-economic life and open pathways for small and medium-sized businesses.
