Tengrinews.kz - Police in Astana have arrested a man wanted on an international warrant for drug trafficking.
The capital’s police department has reported the details.
"During an operational search in the capital, officers arrested a 26-year-old citizen who was wanted on suspicion of committing a particularly serious crime. It is known that the young man was being sought for large-scale drug trafficking," the department states.
The criminal was distributing narcotics through hidden stash points.
It was established that he had been hiding in a private house in a specially equipped secret room, with the entrance located behind a sofa.
The arrested individual has been placed in a pre-trial detention facility.
Earlier, police in Astana arrested a Tajik citizen who was on the international wanted list. It was found that two years ago, during a wedding in Tajikistan, the 34-year-old man, during a conflict with one of the guests, caused bodily harm that led to the guest's death.
