Kazakh citizens warned of extreme heat in the coming days

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has issued a heat warning for July 3 for residents of southern and central regions of Kazakhstan. A storm warning has been declared in almost all regions of the country.

Meteorologists warn that from July 3 to 5, the following regions may experience very high heat: Abai Region, Almaty Region, East Kazakhstan Region, Zhambyl Region, Zhetysu Region, Karaganda Region, Kyzylorda Region, Turkistan Region, and Ulytau Region.

Air temperatures may rise to 45–46°C.

Astana – Thunderstorms and squalls expected in the afternoon. Southern and southeastern winds with gusts of 15–18 m/s. Daytime high: +35°C.

Almaty – July 3–5: extreme heat of +35 to +39°C expected. High fire danger remains.

Akmola Region – Morning and daytime thunderstorms, hail, and squalls in the west, north, and south. Winds up to 23 m/s. Kokshetau: Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls expected on July 3, gusts up to 15–18 m/s.

Almaty Region – July 3–5: heat of +35 to +39°C, with high fire danger. Konaev: July 3–4: same heat range expected.

Karaganda Region – Heat up to +35°C, extreme fire danger in western, eastern, and southern parts.

Aktobe Region – Thunderstorms and hail in south and east, gusts up to 20 m/s. Heat up to +35°C in the south. High to extreme fire danger.

Atyrau Region – High fire danger in the west and south.

Ulytau Region – Heat of +35 to +37°C. Extreme fire danger in most areas. Zhezkazgan: Same heat and high fire danger expected.

Kostanay Region – Thunderstorms expected in the west, north, and east. Wind gusts up to 20 m/s. Kostanay: Thunderstorm expected, heat of +35°C in the south, extreme fire danger in the southwest.

Abai Region – Thunderstorms expected on July 3 in the north and center, wind gusts up to 20 m/s. High to extreme fire danger in the east and south.

East Kazakhstan Region – Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls expected in the north and east. Gusts up to 23 m/s. Ust-Kamenogorsk: Thunderstorms and hail expected.

Kyzylorda Region – Dust storm expected in the north. Heat of +40–43°C during the day. Kyzylorda: Heat of +41–43°C, extreme fire danger.

North Kazakhstan Region – Thunderstorms and hail overnight and during the day. Fog in the west at night and morning. Petropavlovsk: Thunderstorms and hail, gusts up to 20 m/s. High fire danger in the south.

Mangystau Region – Thunderstorms in the west and north. Dust storms expected in west, north, and east. Aktau: Dust storm during the day, gusts up to 20 m/s. High to extreme fire danger across most of the region.

Zhambyl Region – Very strong heat of +43°C in the north and south. July 4: +43–45°C; July 5: up to +45°C in the east and south. Extreme fire danger.

West Kazakhstan Region – Thunderstorms and hail in the north and east. Uralsk: Thunderstorms and hail with gusts up to 18 m/s.

Zhetysu Region – Gusts up to 20 m/s near Lake Alakol.

Pavlodar Region – High fire danger in the west.

Turkestan Region – Desert areas, west and south expected to reach +46°C on July 4–5. Turkestan: July 4–5: very strong heat of +46°C, extreme fire danger remains July 3–5.
