Tengrinews.kz - Ruslan Abdikalikov, the Chairman of the Committee for Information Security of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations, and Aerospace Industry, confirmed that some Kazakhstani banks had shared their customers' personal data with third parties.

This issue was raised during a briefing at the Central Communications Service (CCS) today.

"Yes, unfortunately, such cases do exist. Moreover, we have conducted inspections of second-tier banks this year, as we did last year. We have penalized them for these violations," Abdikalikov said.

He assured that these incidents are isolated.

"We rely on citizens to take action and inform us about such cases. We impose fines on the legal entity, meaning the bank itself. However, we don't have precise statistics," Abdikalikov added.

Abdikalikov also mentioned plans to establish a call center that will centralize all reports of suspected fraud cases.
