Tengrinews.kz - The Head of State met with the President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), Gennady Golovkin, according to the report from Akorda.
The President was briefed on the work of the National Olympic Committee and its plans for the upcoming period.
Gennady Golovkin shared details about measures being taken in collaboration with the relevant ministry to improve sports infrastructure, prepare Kazakhstani athletes more thoroughly, and enhance the country's prestige on the international stage.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the NOC faces significant tasks in promoting and strengthening Olympic sports. He noted that it is essential to ensure the continued improvement of Kazakhstan's national teams' performance in global competitions.
"The Head of State congratulated Gennady Golovkin on his appointment as Chairman of the Olympic Committee of the International Boxing Federation (World Boxing)," the Akorda statement said.
