Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrived in Baku

Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Azerbaijan, according to Akorda press service.

The report states that the head of state arrived on a working visit to Baku to participate in the COP 29 World Climate Action Summit, held under the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

“During the visit, the President of Kazakhstan will hold a series of meetings with heads of state, leaders of international organizations, and business representatives,” the statement reads.

On July 3 in Astana, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at Akorda. Tokayev expressed his gratitude to Aliyev for attending the SCO summit as an honorary guest. The two leaders discussed the implementation of joint projects in investment, industry, energy, transportation, and logistics.

On July 6, Tokayev returned to Azerbaijan for the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

In March 2024, Tokayev made an official state visit to Azerbaijan, where he held talks with President Ilham Aliyev and participated in the first session of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Supreme Interstate Council.
