Government of Japan will specify the type of aid it could receive from Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Yuzo Harada, Ambassador of Japan to Kazakhstan. “We are grateful that Kazakhstan has expressed its readiness to render aid to the Government and people of Japan”, the Ambassador said. “Japan is likely to turn to Kazakhstan for aid”, the diplomat said, adding that he hopes his nation will courageously overcome the wake of the earthquake and tsunami. A special account has been opened at the Embassy of Japan in Kazakhstan to accept donations from corporations and individuals for victims of the earthquake and tsunami. All the donations will be forwarded to the Red Cross of Japan to be further distributed among those in need of help. The Japanese flag flies at half-staff at the Japanese Embassy in Astana.
