January surprises: parts of Kazakhstan will be drenched in rain

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather forecast for 10, 11 and 12 January.

A cyclone will bring snow and rain

With a northwestern cyclone, precipitation is expected in Kazakhstan: from 10 January in the west, from 11 January in the northwest, north and central regions, and from 12 January in the east. At night this will be snow, blowing snow and icy conditions; during the day – rain, snow, ice and blowing snow.

Heavy snow is forecast on 11 January in Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions. In the south of the country on 10–12 January, and in the southeast on 12 January, rain is expected. Fog and gusty winds are also possible in places across the country.

What about temperatures

On 11 January in the north and centre of the country, and on 12 January in the east, daytime air temperatures are forecast in the range of -3…+3°C.
