In response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the Ministry of Transport provided the following information.
"Currently, there are 11 transit passenger trains operating across Kazakhstan (from other railway administrations), including: Uzbekistan - 5 pairs of trains (namely, N305/306 Tashkent - Samara, N123/124 Tashkent - Volgograd, N369/370 Tashkent - Novosibirsk, N647/648 Nukus - Beineu, and N505/506 Tashkent - Moscow); Kyrgyzstan - 3 pairs of trains (N318/318 Bishkek - Samara, N405/406 Bishkek - Shu, and N385/386 Bishkek - Novosibirsk); Tajikistan - 3 pairs of trains (N319/320 Kulob - Volgograd, N329/330 Dushanbe - Volgograd, and N359/360 Khujand - Volgograd)," the agency reported.
Additionally, the ministry noted that there are 7 passenger trains organized to travel directly from Kazakhstan to other countries: one Talgo train (N1/2 Almaty - Tashkent) and 6 standard trains (N83/84 Karaganda - Samara, N113/114 Almaty - Bishkek - Kazan, N145/146 Karaganda - Omsk, N625/626 Atyrau - Astrakhan, N7/8 Almaty - Saratov, and N301/302 Almaty - Novosibirsk).
