Interior ministry reported on extremism prosecutions in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz - In 2024, authorities in Kazakhstan solved 85 crimes related to inciting religious and ethnic hatred, promoting terrorism, and participating in extremist organizations, according to Polisia.kz.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 44 individuals were prosecuted following investigations. Additionally, 131 religious radicals were convicted for committing various criminal offenses, including theft, extortion, robbery, and other crimes.

The activities of 18 criminal groups were suppressed, resulting in the seizure of 50 firearms and over 10 kilograms of drugs. Furthermore, 390 individuals were held administratively liable for violations in matters of religious relations and the distribution of prohibited materials.

Law enforcement officers also inspected security measures at 9,930 facilities, issuing 3,581 orders to rectify violations and filing 1,244 administrative protocols.

Recently, the National Security Committee reported how many weapons and ammunition were seized from illegal circulation in 2024.
