Indian summer 2025 in Kazakhstan: when will the warm weather arrive

Tengrinews.kz – October in Kazakhstan will begin with a cold snap, but by mid-first ten-day period (first decade), an Indian summer is expected: warm days will reach the west, south, and central parts of the country, while temperatures will also rise in the north and east. During the first half of the month, residents will enjoy pleasant weather before another round of cooling at the end of October, according to Kazhydromet.

First decade: arrival of Indian summer

By the middle of the first decade of October, warm air masses from Central Asia and the eastern Mediterranean will bring a significant temperature rise:

• West: +7…+12°C at night, +17…+25°C during the day;
• North and East: +2…+8°C at night, +10…+18°C during the day;
• Center: +2…+7°C at night, +15…+23°C during the day;
• South and Southeast: +5…+12°C at night, +20…+28°C during the day.

During this period, people across the country can enjoy comfortable, warm autumn days before the onset of colder weather.

End of first decade: slight cooling

A slight drop in temperature is expected in the northwestern part of Kazakhstan, while in the south and east, the cold wave will shift to the beginning of the second decade of October.

Second decade: brief warm spell

In the second decade, temperatures will rise again:

• Most of the country: daytime highs of +13…+18°C;
• South and Southeast: daytime highs of +22…+27°C.

Third decade: approach of winter

By the end of October, cold weather will return:

• North, Center, East: –7…–12°C at night, 0…+8°C during the day;
• South and Southeast: –1…–6°C to +3…+8°C at night, +5…+20°C during the day.

“Throughout the month, unstable weather is expected: fog, icy conditions, gusty winds, and in the second half of the month, ground blizzards may occur in the northern regions,” forecasters said.
