Tengrinews.kz – Another public service in Kazakhstan will soon be available online. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Development have published the relevant order.
According to the order, a pilot project is being launched to issue identity cards online in order to improve the efficiency of public services in Kazakhstan.
You will be able to apply for a new ID card via the e-government website or mobile app once your current ID nears its expiration date.
As noted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, this service will be available if 30 days or less remain until the ID expires, or if the expiration date passed no more than 10 days ago.
How to apply for an ID card online
- Go to the eGov portal or use the eGov Mobile app, fill out the application and sign it with a digital signature (EDS);
- Take a photo in the required format and upload it with your application;
- The authorized body will check: your residency registration, expiration date of your current ID, attached photo;
- If verification is successful, you will need to pay the state fee;
- Receive a notification about the result of the service;
- The ready ID card can be picked up at the Public Service Center (TsON).
The joint order of the ministries comes into effect from the date of its first official publication and will remain valid until March 31, 2026.
