Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis held a meeting in a narrow format, citing Akorda.

Welcoming Prime Minister Andrej Babis, the Head of State emphasized that he is well known in Kazakhstan as a political figure recognized not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout Europe.

“Our countries have long enjoyed very close and friendly relations. Trade ties are developing successfully. The peoples of our two countries sincerely seek closer relations. It is very important that we coordinate our efforts within major international organizations. Our embassies are working actively both here and in your capital. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for the fact that you have brought with you a representative delegation of Czech entrepreneurs. Yesterday, a business forum was successfully held in Astana. For my part, I will do everything possible to further strengthen our multifaceted cooperation,” the President said.

Andrej Babis thanked Kazakhstan for the warm reception and highly praised the country’s achievements in various fields.

“It is a great honor for me to be in your wonderful country, which is an extremely important state in Central Asia. I congratulate you on the adoption of the new Constitution. I believe your experience in this matter could also be useful for our country. I had always dreamed of visiting Kazakhstan, because after graduating from university in 1978, I worked in a department that cooperated with Shymkent and Zhambyl (Taraz). Kazakhstan is a country of enormous importance in the energy sector. You are the largest producer of uranium. Concluding an agreement in this field is very important for us, since nuclear power plants are now gaining particular significance. I am deeply impressed by Kazakhstan’s achievements in the field of artificial intelligence. Our countries have much in common. I think our governments will make every effort to continue developing our relations,” said the Czech Prime Minister.

As a reminder, Andrej Babis arrived in Kazakhstan on April 28. Together with Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, he took part in the Kazakhstan–Czech Republic business forum, which brought together business representatives from both countries.

On April 29, a welcoming ceremony for the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic was held at Akorda.
