Tengrinews.kz - It has been revealed how much investment will be attracted for the development of the Almaty International Airport.
What is known
The Ministry of Transport and Almaty International Airport JSC have signed a memorandum of cooperation. The document outlines the investment volume, implementation stages, and key activities aimed at developing the airport.
According to the Ministry of Transport’s press service, from 2025 to 2029, TAV Holding will invest $362 million in the airport’s development. The plans include the reconstruction of the runway, construction of a new cargo apron, renovation of the domestic terminal, modernization of warehouses, construction of a hotel, and other infrastructure upgrades.
Airport representatives said they would provide additional details on the master plan in summer 2025 during a press conference.
What else is promised
According to the memorandum, special attention will be given to employee working conditions:
- Over the course of one year, salaries of staff will increase by an average of 25 percent
- A medical center will open at the airport for both employees and nearby residents
- At least 600 new jobs are expected to be created in 2025
- A training center accredited by the Airports Council International (ACI) will begin operations
- Separate canteens for employees have been arranged
