From the moment the Russian President’s aircraft crossed Kazakhstan’s state border until it landed at the capital’s airport, it was escorted by fighter jets of the Air Defense Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A guard of honor was lined up at the stairs of the presidential aircraft. Putin and members of the official delegation were greeted by children holding flags of the two countries and by drummers from the Makhambet Utemisov Palace of Schoolchildren.

Inside the airport terminal, a combined ensemble of dombra players from the Al-Farabi Palace of Schoolchildren and accordionist Radmir Khaibullin, a laureate of international competitions, performed a medley of Kurmangazy kuis and Russian musical works for the Russian leader.

Thus, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Kazakhstan began on Wednesday. On May 28, high-level talks will be held and a number of bilateral documents will be signed.
