Tengrinews.kz - More than 370,000 Kazakh children are expected to start first grade in the new academic year, according to the Ministry of Education.
The enrollment period for first grade will run from April 1 to August 31, 2025.
"It is expected that over 370,000 first-graders will begin their school journey in the new academic year. According to the Committee for Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education, under the Law on Education, children enter first grade at the age of six upon parental request. Applications can be submitted via the eGov mobile app, the electronic government portal, or in paper format directly at schools. To facilitate the process, admission committees have been established in all schools," the ministry stated.
This year, the online application process for first-grade enrollment through the eGov portal has been significantly simplified. Parents no longer need to manually upload medical certificates, as data from the "Child’s Health Passport" and "Vaccination Record" is automatically retrieved. If medical documents are unavailable, parents still have the option to upload scanned copies manually. Additionally, new features allow parents to track their application status and withdraw applications with a single click.
Applications are accepted from Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays. The processing time for applications is one working day after submission.
Earlier, the Ministry of Education announced the end date for the 2025 school year. Read about it here.
