Tengrinews.kz - The Astana akimat (local government administration) has revealed how driverless trains for the city’s light rail transit (LRT) system are being assembled.
According to the Astana akimat, the production of rolling stock is underway as part of the LRT project. Out of the 19 planned cars, six are currently in production.
Two of the cars have completed painting, window and door installation, as well as the fitting of interior panels, flooring, roofing, air conditioning systems, lighting, multimedia equipment, and monitors. The next phase will involve installing wheelsets, suspension, and undercarriage systems. Another four cars are at the body frame assembly stage.
