Tengrinews.kz - The tenge strengthened against the dollar during trading on January 21 in Kazakhstan, following the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

At the close of the daytime trading session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the weighted average dollar exchange rate was 527.58 tenge, down by 2.36 tenge. Notably, the official exchange rate set by the National Bank for January 21 is 529.99 tenge per dollar.

According to kurs.kz, the current average dollar purchase rate in Almaty exchange offices is 525.40 tenge, with a selling rate of 528.82 tenge. In Astana, the average purchase rate is 524.40 tenge, while the selling rate is 529.65 tenge.

It is worth noting that earlier in Russia, the dollar exchange rate fell below 100 rubles for the first time since December 27, 2024. As of 3:41 PM Astana time, the dollar was trading at 99.90 rubles.
