Tengrinews.kz - In Astana, due to extreme cold, students are switching to remote learning for the third consecutive day.
"Due to worsening weather conditions, students of grades 0-11 (12) and first- and second-year college students (based on 9th-grade entry) in the first shift will switch to distance learning on January 24," the capital’s education department announced.
According to Kazhydromet, nighttime temperatures on January 24 will drop to -36°C, while daytime temperatures are expected to reach -20 to -25°C.
This marks the third day in a row that classes in the capital have been moved online.
Earlier, Kazhydromet released the weather forecast for Astana for the next three days, from January 24 to 26.
