Hottest day expected in Astana on July 14

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have warned Astana residents about the peak of the heat. According to meteorologists, July 14 will be the hottest day in the capital.

According to Kazhydromet, on July 14, daytime temperatures in Astana will rise to +37...+39°C. The absolute maximum for this date, according to long-term observations, is +35.3°C. It was recorded in 1992.

At the same time, on July 13, the heat had already approached historical levels. As of 1:40 p.m., thermometers in the capital showed +35.9°C. Kazhydromet recalled that the absolute temperature maximum for July 13 was recorded in 1935, when the air in the city warmed up to +39.5°C.

As a reminder, on June 23, a new temperature record for that date was set in Astana. At that time, the air warmed up to +36.8°C. The previous record for June 23 was +36.4°C and was recorded in 1941.
