Heavy rains to hit part of Kazakhstan

According to forecasters, unstable weather is expected across most of the country due to a northwestern cyclone and the atmospheric fronts associated with it. Many regions will see rain with thunderstorms, with hail, squalls and stronger winds possible in some areas. Dust storms are forecast in the south.

Heavy rains are expected:

• July 18 — in parts of Kostanay Region;
• July 19–20 — in North Kazakhstan and Akmola regions;
• July 20 — during the day in West Kazakhstan and Aktobe regions.

At the same time, sunny weather without precipitation will persist in the south and southeast of the country, as well as in central regions on July 18.

Where it will get cooler

With the arrival of rain, air temperatures in northwestern and northern Kazakhstan will drop. During the day, thermometers will show between +21 and +29 degrees Celsius.

Where extreme heat will persist

Meanwhile, hot air masses coming from Central Asia will continue to affect much of the east and center of the country.

According to Kazhydromet, daytime temperatures are expected to reach:

• in most eastern and central regions — intense heat of up to +35…+39 degrees;
• in the south of central and eastern regions — very intense heat of up to +42 degrees;
• in the southwest — up to +44 degrees;
• in the south and southeast of the country — up to +45…+48 degrees.
