Heavy rains and frosts to hit Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet forecasters have released the weather forecast for May 26, 27, and 28.

Weather surprises in Kazakhstan at the end of May

According to the forecast, unstable weather is expected across most of Kazakhstan due to the passage of atmospheric frontal systems.

"Rain and thunderstorms are forecast; heavy rain, hail, and squally winds are expected in the west on May 27; in the south, southeast, and central regions on May 27–28; and in the north and east on May 28," meteorologists stated.

Wind speeds are expected to increase across Kazakhstan.

Temperature outlook

On the nights of May 26–27, eastern Kazakhstan expects frosts of 2 degrees.

Temperatures will gradually decline:

• daytime highs in the west of 16–28°C,
• in the north and center up to 18–25°C,
• in the east up to 23–30°C,
• and in the south up to 20–27°C.

Summer 2026 outlook for Kazakhstan

Earlier, forecasters released an advisory weather outlook for the summer of 2026 in Kazakhstan. According to their data, the season is expected to bring a combination of hot spells, brief showers, thunderstorms, hail, and gusty winds.
