Heavy rains and frosts in Kazakhstan – forecasters issue warning

Tengrinews.kz – Forecasters have released the weather outlook for Kazakhstan for April 10, 11, and 12.

Unstable weather ahead

Atmospheric fronts will once again make themselves felt — rain, thunderstorms, and in some areas, even wet snow are expected to affect the western, northern, and southern mountainous regions of the country. Heavy rainfall is especially expected on April 11 in the west and northwest, and during the night of April 12 in Kostanay Region.

Meanwhile, the eastern part of the country will remain under the influence of an anticyclone, bringing predominantly dry and calm weather — a brief break in the series of unpredictable weather changes.

Forecasters also warn of strong winds in western regions, and widespread fog across much of the country, which will reduce visibility on the roads — drivers are advised to be especially cautious.

What about temperatures?

• West: Nighttime temperatures will drop from 2–7°C to 0–5°C, with frosts down to -3°C in western and northern areas;
• Northwest: Night temperatures will fall from 3–8°C to -2 to +3°C;
• North & Center: Temperatures will rise at night from 2–7°C to 7–12°C;
• East: Nighttime temperatures will rise from -3 to +5°C to 3–8°C;
• Southeast: Nighttime warming from 5–10°C to 7–12°C;
• South: Nighttime warming from 10–15°C to 15–20°C.
