Tengrinews.kz - The Almaty akimat (local government administration) has announced the start date for the end of the heating season.
Officials previously stated that heating in Almaty is turned off once the average daily outdoor temperature remains above 8°C for five consecutive calendar days, as recorded by the national hydrometeorological service.
Heating will be turned off in stages beginning April 10. The process will start with administrative buildings, educational and cultural institutions, followed by residential buildings, dormitories, hotels, and social facilities such as kindergartens, hospitals, schools, vocational institutions, and medical-social organizations.

On April 7, partly cloudy skies are expected with rain and thunderstorms in the morning and during the day. Winds will come from the southwest at 3–8 m/s, with gusts up to 15–20 m/s during thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 8–10°C at night to 21–23°C during the day.
On April 8, partly cloudy skies with rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Southwest wind at 3–8 m/s, with gusts up to 12 m/s during thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 11–13°C at night to 21–23°C during the day.
On April 9, partly cloudy with rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Northwest wind at 3–8 m/s, with gusts up to 12 m/s during thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from 8–10°C at night to 18–20°C during the day.
Notably, the heating season officially ended in Shymkent on April 7.
Earlier, Almaty's Akim (governor) was asked to justify the high tariffs for hot water and heating in the city.
