Scholz landed in Astana on an Airbus A350 named "Kurt Schumacher," honoring the first chairman of the Social Democratic Party in post-war Germany. He was welcomed at the airport by Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektanov.

During his visit, Scholz is scheduled to participate in high-level talks and a "Central Asia + Germany" summit. The agenda includes discussions on strategic cooperation, economic partnership, and joint investment projects.

Previously, Kazakhstan's President and Chancellor Scholz held bilateral meetings during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's visit to Germany last year.
