Tengrinews.kz – Police detained a group of extortionists in the Turkestan region, citing the regional police department's press service.
Law enforcement authorities in the Turkestan region have dismantled a criminal group engaged in extortion.
As a result of operational search activities, seven individuals were detained in the Tulkubas district, including followers of destructive religious movements and members of marginalized youth groups.
Two of the detainees were found to be brothers.
During searches at the suspects' residences, police seized a smoothbore carbine, a knife, radios, casino chips, and religious literature.
Additionally, a hidden stash containing two more smoothbore carbines was discovered in a workshop owned by one of the detainees.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspects, and they have been taken into custody. A pre-trial investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of their criminal activities.
