Tengrinews.kz - A fugitive drug dealer on the international wanted list from Russia has been detained in Almaty, according to Polisia.kz.

Tengrinews.kz - A fugitive drug dealer on the international wanted list from Russia has been detained in Almaty, according to Polisia.kz.

The 26-year-old Stanislav Konakov was wanted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for a drug-related crime. A court had placed him under house arrest, but he managed to escape.

Following a series of operational and investigative measures, the fugitive was apprehended by officers from the department for countering drug crimes of the Almaty police department. He had been hiding in one of the city's residential areas. Konakov has been placed in a temporary detention facility.

Previously, Serbia extradited a 45-year-old man wanted by Kazakhstan.
