Frost and hail: storm warnings issued in Astana and several regions

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have issued storm warnings for Astana and 15 regions for Wednesday, April 29.

In Kazakhstan’s capital, frost down to -1°C is expected on the soil surface at night.

In the morning and afternoon, light rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the west and north of the Akmola Region. Frost down to -1°C is expected at night in the east of the region.

Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the west and center of the Aktobe Region. Frost down to -2°C is expected in the west and north of the region. High fire danger remains in the south.

High fire danger is expected in the southeast of the Atyrau Region.

In the East Kazakhstan Region, northerly and northeasterly winds are forecast, reaching 15–20 meters per second in the west, east, and south of the region. Frost down to -3°C is expected at night in the north and east.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day in the mountainous areas of the Zhambyl Region. Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the mountains. Northeasterly winds will reach 15–20 meters per second in the southwest, northeast, and mountainous areas.

In the daytime, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in the northwest of the West Kazakhstan Region. Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the west, north, and east of the region. Southwesterly winds will gust to 15–20 meters per second in the west and north during the day. Frost down to -3°C is expected at night in the north and east. In Uralsk, light rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day. Fog is possible at night and in the morning. Southwesterly winds will gust to 15–20 meters per second during the day.

In the Karaganda Region, northeasterly and easterly winds are forecast, with gusts up to 15 meters per second in the south. Frost down to -1°C is expected at night in the east.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected at night and in the morning in the west and north of the Kostanay Region. In Kostanay, rain and thunderstorms are also expected at night and in the morning.

High fire danger is expected in the east of the Kyzylorda Region.

In the Mangystau Region, rain and thunderstorms are forecast during the day, with hail expected in the south and east of the region. Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the northeast. Northeasterly winds will gust to 15–18 meters per second in the south and center. In Aktau, rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day.

In the Abai Region, northeasterly and easterly winds are expected, reaching 15–20 meters per second at night in the north, southwest, and center, and during the day in the southwest. Frost down to -2°C is expected at night in the west and center of the region. High fire danger remains in the center.

In the Zhetysu Region, northeasterly winds are expected, with gusts of 15–20 meters per second, and at times up to 25 meters per second, in the east. Extreme fire danger remains in the east and south.

Frost down to -1°C is expected at night in the east of the Pavlodar Region. High fire danger remains in the north of the region.

Light rain and thunderstorms are expected in the west and north of the North Kazakhstan Region. Fog is possible at night and in the morning in the south. Southerly and southwesterly winds will gust to 15–20 meters per second in the west, north, and east during the day. High fire danger is expected in the west.

In the mountainous areas of the Turkistan Region, short-term rain, thunderstorms, and squalls are forecast during the day. Northeasterly winds will reach 15–20 meters per second in the mountains.
