Tengrinews.kz - The bodies of four Kazakhstani children who tragically died in Kyrgyzstan have been returned to their homeland in Oskemen.

The bodies were delivered to Oskemen today by a special flight. An operational headquarters has been established in the East Kazakhstan region administration to assist the relatives of the children, including specialists from all regional services," stated the regional authorities.

The local administration and a mosque have taken on the organization and conduct of the funerals. Businesses and entrepreneurs in the region have also expressed their readiness to support the families.

The children were victims of a devastating mudslide that occurred in the Nookat District of the Osh Region in Kyrgyzstan on Friday, June 28. The mudflows destroyed roads, bridges, and flooded residential homes. The four children from Kazakhstan were visiting relatives in Kyrgyzstan when the disaster struck.

A total of 1,400 vacationers were evacuated from the "Abshir-Ata" resort area, and a state of emergency has been declared.
