Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death of 24-year-old Kazakh citizen Aset Kuralbay, who had gone missing in the United States. This was reported by the ministry’s press service.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the competent authorities of the United States have identified the person whose body was found earlier. The deceased was Kazakh citizen Aset Kuralbay.
“We express our sincere and deepest condolences to his family and friends over this heavy loss,” the ministry said in a statement.
Kazakh diplomats are currently in constant contact with the competent U.S. authorities and the relatives of the deceased.
The Foreign Ministry said Aset Kuralbay’s relatives are being provided with the necessary consular assistance on issues related to document processing and organizing the repatriation of the body to Kazakhstan.

Twenty-four-year-old Aset Kuralbay lived in the Chicago area, in Ford Heights, Illinois. He last made contact on June 2, 2026. Since June 7, his phone has been unavailable. His documents and bank cards were left at home. On June 10, police found his car.
Later, the Foreign Ministry reported that U.S. competent authorities had found the body of a person presumed to be the missing Kazakh citizen. At that time, identification procedures were underway.
