Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Akan Rakhmetullin, has commented on the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the West Kazakhstan region.
Speaking to journalists in the Mazhilis, Rakhmetullin stated that the Foreign Ministry does not yet have information on the origin or ownership of the drone.
"There will be an official statement, but as of today, we do not have information on where the drone came from or who it belongs to. An investigation is underway. Once details emerge, we will make specific decisions," he said.
Another Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alibek Kuantyrov, also confirmed that an investigation is ongoing.
"There are technical aspects—where it came from, where it crashed, and its origin. Let the relevant authorities and experts investigate. The details will become clear later," Kuantyrov noted.
Fragments of the unidentified UAV were discovered in the remote Zhanibek district, far from residential areas. The police department confirmed that all circumstances surrounding the incident are being examined.
This marks the third drone crash in the West Kazakhstan region. On March 18, a three-meter UAV fell in the Taskala district, while another unidentified drone crashed in the village of Uyaly in the Bokey Orda district on February 18.
