Flu is receding - Healthcare Minister comments on the epidemiological situation

Tengrinews.kz – Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova stated that the epidemiological situation in the country is improving.

“Influenza is retreating — down by 15 percent. The measures taken by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Committee are producing results. Hospital bed occupancy is around 60 percent,” the minister said today on the sidelines of the Mazhilis.

According to her, the trend remains positive and the healthcare system is managing the workload.

Flu and ARVI outbreak in Kazakhstan

Earlier, Minister Alnazarova presented a forecast for the incidence rate in Kazakhstan.

Since the beginning of the season, 590 cases of influenza have been confirmed, 587 of which are type A (H3N2), known as the Hong Kong flu. This virus has been circulating in Kazakhstan since 2001. Isolated cases of type A (H1N1) have also been detected.
