Tengrinews.kz - Deposits of Kazakhstanis began to decrease. The Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of Financial Market told about the reasons for the decrease in their volumes.
According to the Agency, in general, deposits of residents in deposit organizations in January decreased by 2.1% to 40.4 trillion tenge.
"Deposits of legal entities decreased by 2.3% to 18.3 trillion tenge, deposits of individuals - by 2.0% to 22.1 trillion tenge. The decrease in deposits is due to seasonal factors, as well as the revaluation of foreign currency deposits," the report says.
Deposits in national currency over the month decreased by 2.4% - to 31.2 trillion tenge, in foreign currency - by 1.4%, to 9.2 trillion tenge.
"As a result, the dollarization level as of February 1, 2025 was 22.7%, slightly increasing from 22.5% at the beginning of 2025," the information specified.
At the same time, it was indicated that the average weighted interest rate on term deposits in the national currency of non-bank legal entities in January was 14.1% (in December 2024 - 14%), on deposits of individuals - 13.5% (in December 2024 - 13.2%).
