FDI in processing industries total $ 2 billion in 2010

In 2010 Kazakhstan’s processing industries attracted over $ 2 billion of foreign direct investments, Bnews.kz reported, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and New technologies. “In 2010, foreign direct investments into the processing industries made up $ 2.1 billion, 16.7% as compared to 2009”, the Ministry’s statement reads. According to the statement, the share of processing industries in the overall inflow of foreign direct investments made up 12% against 9% in 2009. In 2010 Kazakhstan launched the State Program of Accelerated Industrial and Innovative Development (PAIID).
